Dosage
Children and adolescents weighing less than 70 kg : The total daily dose should be approximately 0.5 mg/kg initially, and the dose can be increased to 1.2 mg/kg daily after at least 3 days, either as a single dose in the morning or divided into 2 doses in the morning and evening.
Children, adolescents and adults weighing more than 70 kg : The initial dose is usually 40 mg/day, which can be increased to 80 mg/day after at least 3 days, taken as a single dose in the morning or divided into 2 doses in the morning and evening. After 2-4 weeks of continued use, if the optimal therapeutic effect is still not achieved, the total daily dose can be increased to a maximum of 100 mg.
Adverse reactions 5
Common symptoms : headache, loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, insomnia, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, etc.
Uncommon : skin rash, urticaria, abnormal heartbeat, honeycomb-like swelling in the mouth, nose, tongue, throat, etc.
Rarely : Male users may experience genital pain or abnormal genital erections.
Incidence is unknown : A small number of users experienced darker urine, muscle cramps, dark yellow skin, abdominal pain, incontinence, etc. Some users experienced more serious conditions such as fainting and convulsions.
Taboo
Patients with hypersensitivity to atomoxetine or other ingredients of this product.
Patients currently taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
Precautions
It may increase blood pressure and heart rate. Patients with hypertension, tachycardia, or cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases should pay attention and measure pulse and blood pressure regularly before treatment, when increasing the dose, and during treatment.
May cause urination problems.
There have been reports of orthostatic hypotension; caution should be exercised when using this medication as it may cause hypotension in patients.
Children and adolescents may be at increased risk for suicidal ideation, and patients starting treatment need to be closely monitored for suicidal-related behavioral changes, clinical worsening, or unusual changes in behavior.
