Mechanism of action

Tolinterix is ​​a multimodal antidepressant that works through the following mechanisms:

  • Selective serotonin reuptake inhibition : inhibits the reuptake of serotonin ( 5-HT ) and increases the concentration of 5-HT in the synaptic cleft.
  • 5- HT receptor regulation : It has an antagonistic effect on 5-HT3 and 5-HT7 receptors, a partial agonist effect on 5-HT1B receptors, and an agonist effect on 5-HT1A receptors.

Dosage

  • Recommended dose : The usual initial dose for adults is 10 mg , once a day, orally. The dose can be appropriately adjusted within a range of no more than 20 mg depending on the patient's condition.
  • Precautions : Avoid co-administration with CYP2D6 inhibitors (such as fluoxetine, quinidine), or when used in patients with hereditary CYP2D6 poor metabolizers, it is recommended to limit the dose to 10 mg .
