Ingredients
One tablet contains 5mg of methimazole.
Additives: hydrated lactose, corn starch, talc, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, purified sucrose, gelatin, titanium dioxide, precipitated calcium carbonate, magnesium stearate, gum arabic powder, carnauba wax, stearic acid, shellac, polyoxyethylene (160) polyoxypropylene (30) ethylene glycol
Indications
It acts on the thyroid gland and has the following effects.
● It organizes the operation of enzymes necessary for the synthesis of thyroid hormones and inhibits excessive secretion of thyroid hormones.
● It is usually used to treat hyperthyroidism.
Dosage and administration
aldult:
●The usual initial dose is 6 capsules (30mg main ingredient) per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses.
● For severe cases, take 8-12 tablets (40-60mg) per day.
●If the symptoms of hyperfunction have basically disappeared, gradually reduce the dosage every 1-4 weeks. The maintenance dose is 1-2 capsules (5-10mg) per day, divided into 1-2 doses.
Children:
●The usual initial dose is 2-4 capsules (10-20mg main ingredient) per day for children aged 5-9, and 4-6 capsules (20-30mg) per day for children aged 10-14, divided into 2-4 doses.
●If the symptoms of hyperfunction have basically disappeared, gradually reduce the dosage every 1-4 weeks. The maintenance dose is 1-2 capsules (5-10mg) per day, divided into 1-2 doses.
Pregnant woman:
●The usual initial dose is 6 capsules (15-30mg of main ingredient) per day, divided into 3-4 doses.
●If the symptoms of hyperfunction have basically disappeared, gradually reduce the dosage every 1-4 weeks. The maintenance dose is 1-2 capsules (5-10mg) per day, divided into 1-2 doses.
●During a normal pregnancy, in order to prevent thyroid function test values from becoming low, it is necessary to have a check-up every 2 weeks and take the lowest possible dose.
Precautions
●Side effects: Rash, hives, fever, etc. If these occur, consult a doctor promptly.
